Tasked with basing a vinyl cover off an album cover of choice, I chose the debut album, "When We Were Friends", from one of my favorite artists, The Backseat Lovers. The bottom left picture illustrates that album cover, while the middle pair of photos represents my initial design, which keeps the elements of the tunnel and bicycle from the original cover. I utilized the image of a young boy staring at a dividing point with the bike leaving the dark tunnel and dark skies, and heading towards bright colors and beautiful scenery down the road. This symbolizes an important time in the boy's life where he must choose between two very different paths. The top two photos represent my final design, which once again keeps the element of the bike by scattering its parts throughout the cover, with some being used to spell the band's name. The neon color scheme comes from the idea of glow-in-the-dark lights being applied to light up the bike while it's traveling through the tunnel. In the top left of the front cover, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and one of the wheels rolling through it. The bottom right photo shows the center labels, which exhibit the band's name with a fitting image of a car driving into the sunset, leaving hearts trailing behind.
